They do this because they must have diagnosed the problem as a dirty central heating system and therefore recommend you to have a power flush before any parts are replaced, so the new parts don’t fail quickly.
I'm replacing my radiators. Do I need a power flush?
Replacing your radiators won’t make a difference to the sludge that is already built up in your pipe work. It is not good practice to install new radiators on to a system filled with debris and sludge as it will immediately restrict the new radiators’ ability to perform. It is best to have the system Powerflushed in order to clear all of the sludge and debris, which is built up so that the new radiators are able to perform at maximum efficiency.
How long does it take to carry out a powerflush?
A standard power flush typically takes between 4 to 8 hours, depending on the size of the property and the condition of the system. Larger homes or heavily sludged systems may take longer. We always aim to complete the job with minimal disruption.
